Another thing to remember about buying a new home is that the contracts are a little different than they are for re-sale homes. There is some additional information and disclosures that you’ll need a professional to help guide you through.

Although the price might say “Starting at $300,000”, there is more to it than that. You will have to pay for things such as a lot premium, that factors in the size and location of the lot your home is on. We’ve seen people charged up to $50,000 for a lot premium. Some other costs involved that people often forget about are blinds and shades, rear yard landscaping, decks, sprinklers, and windows. Be aware that you will have to pay for these things separately.
